We leave for Virginia in less than 4 weeks now!! I am trying to get all of these things set up before we leave, so here's a test post.

- We are Trent and Lindsey. We are from Garland, Texas and have been married 3 years now! We live in Tokyo, Japan as missionaries sharing the story of Jesus Christ.

PRAYER REQUESTS
- *That God would refine us and teach us daily. That we would seek Him first.
- *For good relationships: our marriage and within our team
- *That God would use us as a light for our neighbors within our apartment building
- *For the students we meet weekly at ICU, Tsuda University, and SK University
- *That God would use Trent as a light on the soccer team and basketball team that he is a part of
- *That God would give Lindsey the wisdom, patience, and energy needed for homeschooling the Brents' children
- *For patience and perseverance in learning Japanese
- *That God would continue to use the hundreds of volunteers working in Tokyo this summer in a mighty way
- *For the MANY new Japanese believers. Please pray that they would want to grow and share from the beginning!!
PRAISES
- *40 people have accepted Jesus as their Savior since May!
- *Two Bible studies have been started at SK University. One guy became a Christian on July 15!
- *We had a wonderful, relaxing vacation!
- *God has answered our prayers by sending MANY more workers to Tokyo this summer.. we are having over 400 volunteers come to work with us!!
- *Our relationships with our neighbors are continuing to grow.

I'm so excited for your opportunity to serve the Lord in Japan! The cultural differences will be profound. Will you communicate in English or learn Japanese? Do you have any idea what your living arrangements will be?
We are trying to learn Japanese right now. It's a slow process, but we really want to be able to communicate as much as possible in Japanese! We are lucky to be going to a big city where many people speak at least some English, so we won't be totally lost.
Our regional office and the other missionaries in Tokyo are the ones getting our living situation together. We know we will probably be in an apartment pretty close to the city, and it will be furnished. Other than that, we will find out when we get there!
